Dear Justin,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your eight years of service leading Canada. You have taught me so much over these last few years.
You have taught me that democracies don’t work when the people’s main source of information is funded and controlled by the state.
You have taught me that the greatest weapon a government can wield is an apathetic citizenry.
You have taught me that once a government realizes that their power will go unchecked there are no limits to its corruption.
You have taught me that if the mob wants to take my property they can.
You have taught me that mis, dis, mal, and all the isms, are used to divide, distract, and obfuscate connections between individuals and the building of communities.
You have taught me that there are millions of people who are building a different world than the one you so vehemently defend as righteous.
You have taught me that there are peaceful ways to take back the power you have stolen from me.
You have taught me that I have to seek out and find the necessary tools to find a place for my family, that lays outside of your reach. A place where I can still leverage our tools of communication, without handing you the keys to the palace.
I am in control of my identity. I am in control of my data. I am in control of my property. I am in control of the media I consume. I am in control of my thought. I am in control.
Sincerely,
Sikto
