The snowstorm is a definitely happening thing, but the forecast is unclear:
Weather app says 12-14".
GFS 10:1 says 14"
GFS Kuchera says 15"
NWS forecast says a couple of things: 8-12", 4-8" with a period of ice
NWS tends to be accurate, and I'm not sure why they're listing two different totals, and I thought they used the GFS model to make their predictions, but maybe not, I dunno.
In any case, looks like we're getting real snow on Sunday.
The forecast continues to include a pile of snow for Monday and Tuesday. Right now the snow totals predicted by the weather app are 19-23 inches, which is almost certainly a little high, as early predictions usually are. The various snowfall forecast maps are backing it up at the moment. There are two maps that show two different ways of estimating snow, and for my area, the 10:1 method estimates 17 inches, and and Kuchera method estimates 18. A third map I've included is also in that range.
Monday and Tuesday are going to be interesting.
