I was Chair of a Canal NGO for a shirt time recently (had to stand down for personal reasons), and there was some talk of this, but the capacity (most canals are narrow, with low bridges \u0026 already quite busy with leisure traffic) might not be enough to offer a true transport shift, unfortunately... unless one vastly rebuilt the network",
