The phrases "you are so mature for your age" and "(MAPs) have arrested development" are there so people can avoid having to say that maturity isn't inherently tied to age, and in fact there are both mature kids and immature adults. It's not just adults lying for grooming or a mental disorder (which is ableism to just accuse for derogatory reasons, btw)
