It occurred to me that it would be much more accurate to replace "Freedom" with "Folkways" in right-wing discourse.
To MAGA Nation, "Freedom" means little white wood frame churches, checkered picnic tablecloths, porch swings, giant trucks, and guns. The primary "threat" to "Our Freedoms" is the very existence of people who don't live like that.
So when those people howl that their "Freedoms" are in danger, what they really mean is they have to live in a country where people like themselves are not dominant, and not the social default.
