I see a lot of takes like "Zionism is X" where X is "settler colonialism" or something more unsavory.
Yes, as it's practiced by the Israeli government and promoted by right-wingers in the West it is.
But there's a difference between thinking Jews should be able to return to their ancestral homeland (a common refrain in the religion is "Next Year in Jerusalem") and the idea that historical Judea should be an apartheid Jewish ethnostate.
