Construction of wind turbines is scheduled to begin in 2026 for Quaqtaq, and in 2027 for Puvirnituq. The projects will provide > 60% of the communities’ electricity needs; over 25 years, 96 million litres of diesel fuel will be saved, and greenhouse gas emissions will be reduced by 253,000 tonnes of CO2.
