The way that our society deals with deviancy is just fundamentally flawed, even when the deviancy in question is genuinely harmful.
Even most deviancy that is genuinely harmful only happens at all because the person that is engaging in that deviancy is miserable.
As long as our society's reaction to the consequences of misery is to cause more misery, we need to rethink our society from the roots up. We need to fundamentally rethink our very identity as a society.
