We can have a thriving Hauraki Gulf where marine life is abundant but to get to that future, bottom trawling has got to go.
The public mandate for change is strong. More than 36,000 people signed this petition calling for an end to trawl methods in the Gulf and hundreds turned up on the beach and water at Mission Bay earlier this year to call for the same.
