This came up in a conversation earlier, but I need more people to share in my misery so I'm going to put it here too:
Earlier I was talking to my financial advisor about divesting from oil and he said that I should buy a fund with more tech stocks and then said, out loud: "tech doesn't have a carbon footprint!"
And now all day I haven't been able to stop thinking about the fact that this is probably a thing many, or even most, people who don't know anything about tech believe.
