Thanks for putting that conversation out there

I wanna share where my thoughts are at this point about the subject. This really should be a blog post but I'm too exhausted to write a proper article.
I apologies

As far as I've been able to see, the Fediverse central problem is the general lack of structure and political organisation both for individual instances and largely, between instances. There has been, to my knowledge, no serious attempts to structure politically, this/theses space(s).
I mean structure as in organisation: information and decision structures, clear power distribution and ways for people to gain power, a voice, change the rules of their instance, how to manage justice when individuals or groups (like whole instance) are violent, and so many other issues. I'm basing all that on my experiences within AFK (Away From Keyboard) political movements

There is definitely functionality issues that make that job harder, but I strongly disagree with some opinion that were put under your thread that the consequences are a lack of features to discover people or anti-features like an algorithm to select and make one discover content. Algorithms are *very* bad for communities in my opinion. Not getting into it so I don't write a freakin novel.
I think pointing out that it's a feature issue is akin to techno-solutionism and is de-politicising the subject matter.

Of course I strongly agree with people pointing out the big part of the issue that lies with white people, which I am on of, so I wont elaborate. Just pointing out that it's yet another argument encouraging questioning the matter from a political point of view first (and not a "human" behavior or feature issue).

As long as the Fediverse will be considered a mere tool just like Twitter but decentralize, will have this type of issues. And more!

Social Media is political as in: how are we a society/community together and what type of society/space we want to build

It's not as clear and detailed as I wished and it's clumsy, sorry
Hope that brought something to you and others
