The Raiden Network can be connected to the Lightning Network in order to enable secure off-chain transactions between Bitcoin and Ethereum. The contract code above would remain the same, however, both users need to have payment channels opened on the Bitcoin Lightning Network, in order for the Raiden network to interact with it. After both users have opened payment channels on the Bitcoin Lightning Network, the Raiden network contract can be used to open a payment channel between the two parties and facilitate the exchange of Bitcoin and Ethereum natively.
