What scale is good enough? That’s hard to say — but definitely we don’t need such a system to be able to broadcast every brain fart of every human being.
Telling the world you like someone else’s picture of their lunch isn’t something that needs censorship resistance. In fact probably the world would be better off without such information.
My guess is that 1M short messages a day should be far more than enough for all important matters of possible global interest.
Twitter only has 500M messages a day, in it probably would be better without 99.9% of its content.
