PSA: if you update to #Element Desktop 1.11.82, your tray icon will now be monochrome and - depending on the tray background - almost invisible. Apparently there was supposed to be a way to toggle this in a "context menu", but this option may not be available (it's not for me).
In that case you can get the old multicolour icon back by adding an entry in ~/.config/Element/electron-config.json: "monochromeIcon": false
