This is basically the same as what I do, use my private home VPN to work with Zeus on my home bitcoin nodes and all other home machines from all over the world. I did not look into Tailscale, but any 3rd party having info about my home LAN I consider that to be an attack vector. If I can run my own Tailscale server on a private public server, that would be pretty good though.
