Things move incredibly fast now. Knowledge around complexities doesn't scale near as fast. Educating the masses, and keeping them educated falls off drastically. I don't think there's any way to solve that. Hold onto as many unfaltering truths engrained in personal/observed experiences and let that be your base.
Convincing anything to anyone died long ago, experiences will continue to reign. Touch some stoves and hope you make it out alive.
