Milton Friedman was an American economist who received the 1976 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for his research on monetary history among other things, he believed:
- the reason we have inflation in the US, is because these pieces of paper (dollars).... are growing more rapidly than then the quantity of goods and services produced. In the presses that turn out these pieces of paper, we call money.
