yeah, you see, this is exactly why the Royal family don't have any sort of political opinion publically and is being merely a figurehead anymore, pretty much giving Britain and her dominions some semblance of stability, they know that if the King is ever taking sides, shit is going to hit the fan and the other side is going to try to abolish monarchy

Although at this point they became so useless turning Canada into a monarchy changes absolutely nothing (and Canada would probably be ready to do exactly that as soon as the legislation is enacted), you'd need to bring other changes on the table so it's worth it
