Women and men are seeing less benefit in having children and less hope they can give potential children the lifestyle they would like. They are prioritising other aspects of their life and given the circumstances I can see the rationale. Inequalities in performance of domestic labour, that was your point, I think, is just one aspect of many driving the decline of forming long-term relationships and ultimately deciding to have children.
