Idol Rock - England 🏴
The expansion of Brimham Moor in North Yorkshire, England, houses a series of curious rock formations formed by tens of thousands of years of erosion, but the most impressive of all is Idol Rock, a 200-ton monolith that swings on a tiny pyramidal base.
Looks like the 4.5-foot-tall Idol Rock is about to collapse, but it never does. Weighing an estimated 200 tonnes, this gigantic rock formation has been performing its astonishing balancing act since we got use of reason, defying the laws of physics and leaving visitors to Brimham Moor scratching their heads in awe. Also known as The Druids Idol or The Druid's Writing Desk, this unique attraction sits on a tiny piece of rock only a foot in circumference. Photos of him have been circulating on the Internet for years, and many claim it's just the result of Photoshop manipulation, but the Brimham Idol is very real, an example of Mother Nature's artistic talent.
All of Brimham Moor is considered one of the strangest settings in the UK. During the Victorian era, dozens of curiously shaped rocks made everyone think it was a place created by druids, and it wasn’t until the 20th century that people finally realized it was just the result of 18,000 years of constant erosion
