This really is a "heat event" in Los Angeles. Despite having a house with good, solid walls and decent insulation, it is too hot in the high-ceilinged front room to be in there for long. I'm in the back, where the AC is most effective, and I'm still uncomfortably warm. I'm not saying we're in any danger, but this is unusual, and exceedingly dangerous for people in less posh situations.
