For context, when there's a high pressure differential in the refrigeration system, the starting torque of the compressor motor isn't enough to overcome that and the compressor locks up.
That's bad because a locked rotor draws a lot of power, and gets very hot. So it's nice to know there is protection somewhere to recognize this is occurring, and kill power long enough for refrigerant pressures to equalize so it can start back up.
