Four years ago
as we braced for the worst
the supermarkets were out
of toilet paper and bread
the pharmacies were out
of thermometers and medicine
so we held fast to compassion
and to hope
now the pharmacies and supermarkets
are stocked,
but we’ve run out
of compassion and hope.
