If you're using Mastodon through a computer, you can type emoji using your keyboard:
1. Type : (colon) and then a keyword without a space.
2. A list of search results will appear, move the arrow keys to the emoji you want.
3. Press Enter to select the emoji
For example if you type :sun you will see search results that match the keyword "sun". (Note that if a keyword is particularly common you may not see all the matching results, and you will have to use the picker icon 🙂 instead.)
