I've seen a handful near my home as well.
The grocery has one plus
- a security guard near both entrances
- a large sign explaining that theft over $100 has a minimum 3 days in jail (recent new law)
- over a hundred cameras inside - some with displays to show what they see - some with full SD cards because they don't service them regularly.
and so on.
Perhaps security theater.
