Grateful Dead co-founder Jerry Garcia was born on this day in 1942. Few people other than my husband and my family have given as much joy to my life, which is ongoing, though Jerry's no longer with us. I took this photo of Jerry and Phil Lesh at the Warfield Theater in SF in 1980.
