For me, it’s a tie between
• H.R. “Bob” Haldeman (June 1974, Mayflower Hotel, Washington, DC)
• Rafael Edward “Ted” Cruz (early 1997, introduced on the street in Washington, DC by a work colleague who was in Cruz’s class at Harvard Law School)
I’m not counting Tom Coburn—US Senator from Oklahoma—because I resisted the urge to accost him at DFW ~10 years ago.
