For me it comes down to a short list based on trust.
It takes a long time to build and milliseconds to destroy.
FB have blown that candle out too many times already to just openly trust them this time. They're a 'for profit' company and will seek to monetise any way they can, even if it means exploiting their users trust.
I understand some want to maintain friends there to build bridges; and that's the power of fedi - we each have a choice.
