was listening to a podcast with jonathan pageau and he made a great observation that addictions/desires of our flesh are fundamentally secular/satanic liturgy.
because when you sin there is a process to it: the context is generally the same, you do certain actions that are generally the same/a process in a certain order and it is repeated much like liturgy.
we are fundamentally created to worship: it just depends on what we give our attention to. makes so much sense when we are supposed to not conform to the patterns/addictions of this world but be transformed by the renewing of our minds to his good and perfect will.
in other words we substitute our addictions of our flesh and becomes “addicts” to his will because fundamentally we will become addicts to the patterns of this world or his kingdom.
