I'm fascinated by the constant breathless commentary on ChatGPT and LLMs (usually mis-labeled as "AI'). Listening to some now on RNZ. I note that nearly *none* of the commentators I've heard are actually credible technologists. They're semi-technical pundits who're just pandering to a misguided media's perception of the public interest and fear. It's pretty pathetic. The only thing it's doing is fluffing the stock valuations of a few ethically rudderless US mega-corporations.
