A friend found this piece from 2021 on the type of pipe used to build the feeder main that burst in Calgary. Seems like it’s a very good material except for when they lowered the standards on it during the 70’s. Pretty much any pre-stressed concrete pipe laid in the 70’s is an issue…. Tens of billions of dollars of repairs needed across North America.
