We made several bets. I remember paying big money for an OpenDoc course, and it was at Apple's offices, so we had to fly to Cupertino to take it.
I wrote a Newton App. That wasn't the bet, but we wanted to "have our hand in" just in case Newton turned out to be iPhone.
And oh yes, this thing called Java. That bet paid off.
