Man, I wish more of my friends were into PC gaming. Seriously, it’s the ultimate way to game, no doubt about it.
Now, I’m not saying PC gaming is all about having the most mind-blowing specs (although that’s a nice bonus). The real magic lies in its unbeatable library of games.
Let me give you a prime example. I’ve got games from way back in the 80s that I can still play on all sorts of hardware: laptops, desktops, and even my trusty Steam Deck. If it was released on PC (and sometimes even if it wasn’t), chances are I can fire it up and start playing.
Take my laptop, for instance. I’ve got the original PC version of Mortal Kombat running on Windows 11. It’s pretty solid, although I must admit the keyboard controls can be a bit wonky by today’s standards.
And guess what? On that same laptop, I’ve got Jazz Jackrabbit and Jill of the Jungle rocking and rolling. Both totally playable and loads of fun.
Now, can you find Jazz Jackrabbit on the Switch, PS5, or Xbox One? Nope, not a chance. It’s like they don’t even know what they’re missing!
Honestly, having a PC has probably saved me a ton of dough. I don’t want to keep shelling out money for the same game with every new console generation. Just let me have the original game, so I can play it on whatever hardware I fancy. It’s all about that flexibility.
