I just woke up. So sleepy. 😴
Yesterday was really tough day. I went to my friend's wake. The moment I saw my friend Ray, he just opened up his arms and walked over to me for a hug. It was his brother Shawnie who passed away, and the three of us were best friends the growing up. He just hugged me for like 10 minutes and I kept telling him I loved him. What a sweetheart. I don't know how I managed it, but I didn't break down and cry. It was for his benefit. I tried to be strong for him, you know? I always bawl my eyes out when there's a man in my arms crying. Can't handle it. After, I went out for a beer with my nana, then came home afterward and had dinner with my mother, her boyfriend, and my nana. We even invited my neighbor Eddie over. He's basically my uncle, to be honest. Adorable that sassy New Yorker Jazz pianist. Definitely needed that after yesterday.
