man, this is some bullshit. I bought a different M2 SSD and it was failing too, but without a kernel message and with different symptoms; turns out the M2 slot uses the same PCIe lanes as one of the graphics card slots. I would've thought either the motherboard is fried or the SSD is broken out of the box if I didn't plug the graphics card into the lower slot, and I did that simply because it was in the way when I was swapping SSDs, not because I was diagnosing something.
Also, M2 disables 2 SATA ports, which is common, but these aren't in the paper manual, I had to find a digital one.
