so I isolate the boiler, take the front off, pull the spark lead and ground, and then start undoing the torx bolts. which proceed to start *leaking water*.
and I'm thinking "huh, weird. maybe just some condensate?"
I grab a towel and keep going. the towel is now drenched and I grab another. eventually the flow dries up and I pull the ignition assembly out.
and it's fine! clean as whistle, intact gasket, just a small rust spot on the cap where water has clearly been pooling on it.
