I am not saying I have a solution or a clear indication to anything... But I noticed that in my case this issue vanished completely when I test ran a 6750XT for a couple of weeks and it came back when switching to nvidia.
I never tried the nouveau drivers or anything similar. I gave up on the standby topic after wasting a Sunday on it with no results.
