Recent news that I keep thinking about:
They've found part of the skull of a Neanderthal child who likely had Down Syndrome. Tina, as they called, was about 6 years old when they died.
So I've read a bit more on it.
6 is older than non-human great apes get to be with Downs, apparently. Yes, chimps & orangs can have Downs. There's a chimp in Japan that has Downs!
We truly are just another ape species.
