This beautiful parasitic wasp is Ichneumon sarcitorius. The antennae are extraordinarily long. Again, this is supposedly rare and has not been confirmed in the county before. I suspect that has a lot to do with nobody looking and maybe some not bothering to report. It is a dramatic and eye-catching thing though and not remotely like a common wasp.
