Just got off a call with a human rights activist and director at Ideas Beyond Borders. Some key quotes
“You can’t bomb democracy into people”
“It’s really expensive to be poor.”
I connect with human rights folks as much as possible, both for
TPBPod (npub1fpc…4sld) and offline convos. They came to learn about Bitcoin, not because they wanted to get rich or even cared for Bitcoin “the thing,” but because they already saw broken money, broken governments, and the need for a better tool (besides the black markets they’re already using). When Bitcoin is presented, they’re already likely to at least understand the idea of why it’s important.
And also, I can’t overstate the impact
HRF (npub17xv…c9as) and
gladstein (npub1trr…hdpu) has had on human rights and activists around the world, slowly but surely, getting by and understanding bitcoin. The amount of times I’ve heard “Alex told me about bitcoin,” it’s just insane the impact he’s had. 🫡
The human rights case is WHY I’m here. Most everything else is just noise. Freedom go up or bust ✊🏻
