While it's possible that there is indeed a higher meaning for existence, it's also possible that we are simply just animals.
An assimilation of stardust particles made conscious by the universe in order to experience itself temporarily; Governed by the laws of physics during our short lifetimes; And upon our deaths returned to the universe with our experiences in tow.
