If inflation is purely a greater supply of currency within the system and has nothing to do with prices themselves, then "deflation" cannot be used to accurately describe what is taking place when prices fall.
In other words, "deflation" would simply mean a smaller supply of currency, not falling prices.
What am I missing here?
