Ledger went on with their seed phrase recovery service. This makes their hardware wallet useless. It opens the door for government taking your wallet.
Ledger got big investors in recent years. Their is pressure for getting recurring revenue (subscriptions) and I would not wonder to comply with governments to get access to hardware wallets.
This actually us paying for a backdoor :-)
