I'm currently connected to the electricity grid on 2 acres.
I'm resilient but far from self sufficient. I'm not even sure that this is something to aim for any more.
What I yearn for is living around others with aligned values in a community that's largely self sufficient.
Conquering the challenges with others is far more satisfying that doing it alone. I'm becoming comfortable with the discomfort of being early. I also don't think we're too far off seeing others come to a similar conclusion on the desirability of community living.
