Seems like he was advocating for money to be based off energy, as a means to value what is most valuable—work energy. To me it doesn’t matter whether it’s oil, calories we can turn into ATP, sunlight, nuclear robot slaves, or electricity—they all fall under the umbrella of an energy currency, at least as far as I can tell. Bitcoin, being the buyer of last resort for electricity makes it an energy currency proxy, or placeholder. At the least we can draw inference that the more energy we pour into bitcoin, the more it’s worth. I like to think that Ford would be pretty amazed at the system.
