I don't know what you're trying to convey with your comment. Other than proving that the "follow system preferences" approach is inherently broken.
Like I said: On Linux - depending on the DE - that mentioned approach won't work. There's no real "dark mode" with window managers like i3, Sway etc. (at least I've not encountered one yet) - but that's another topic on top of the whole GTK vs. Qt inconsistencies with theming.
