Near the end of “A Man Alone” (DS9 S1E04), which revolves around a Bajoran (Ibudan) trying to frame Odo for the murder of his own clone, we get the following Sisko voiceover:
“Commander’s Log, Stardate 46421.5. Ibudan has been turned over to the Bajoran authorities just hours after his clone gained consciousness & began a new life.”
He continues discussing mobsters or something & my head is reeling. What?! The clone “began a new life”? The first image in my head has the adult clone with a suitcase at a spaceport reviewing the Departures board & pondering where to. Does said clone have the adult knowledge of the original? Does he even speak English, Bajoran, whatever? Does he now go to a Federation/Bajoran clone education center to catch up on all the things? Or, if that is not necessary, does he resemble his criminal original closely enough to be cause for concern? I guess the writers had to say something, but I have a whole lot of questions.
