You are a sensible, reasonable person. What you are failing to understand is that we have tried that and have been ignored, mocked, and even harassed for trying to do just what you suggest. None of the offenders we refer to bother with any of what you're suggesting.
To contrast, GitCitadel (nprofile…xkmf) has dedicated testers., me being one of them. (I'm a very good edge case and I'm a typo/oddity finding machine.) Stuff does get past a few of us on occasion, but, with how we test EVERYTHING before we release it, there are fewer bugs in the wild. We are still figuring out a few things, but, overall, the next release of #Alexandria will be utterly phenomenal. (You can see updates on this from Silberengel (nprofile…wuur)'s video update.)
We are also implementing a bug report tool, I think in this next release, too.
