🥥 As a former #AssociatedPress photo editor, perhaps I can shed light on why the non-profit, member-funded #AP is now reduced to seeking donations.
Since its founding in 1846 by 5 New York newspapers to fund coverage of the #MexicanAmerican war, the AP has relied on member contributions.
Now many of its members have either gone out of business or are struggling financially.
The decline of the #NewsBusiness has now reached another sad but critical milestone. 🥥
