Dubai has adopted the Design Sector Strategy 2033 led by H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, aimed at establishing Dubai as a global hub for design excellence, a meeting point for international designers, innovators, and industry experts, and a destination for exchanging best practices and latest trends in this creative field. This was announced during the 10th edition of Dubai Design Week, held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in partnership with d3, a strategic partner of the Dubai Design District, and supported by Dubai Culture. The strategy will focus on growing the design sector in Dubai, enhancing its competitiveness, and elevating it to new heights of excellence. According to H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai continues to strive to become a global capital of art, culture, and design, and to establish itself as a meeting point for designers, innovators, and talent. The strategy will achieve this by developing Dubai into a model platform for the latest design trends, fostering innovation, and enabling the sector to overcome the challenges it faces. The strategy aims to increase the number of students enrolled in design-related programs by 20%, provide opportunities for more than 25,000 students to study design, support over 500 existing design projects in Dubai, and host over 100 new projects. It also aims to showcase over 500 local design projects in international exhibitions and events, organize more than 100 design activities, and attract 4 million local and international visitors to design exhibitions and events in Dubai by 2033. The strategy will contribute to creating an innovative environment that supports the business ecosystem in fashion, product design, architecture, and graphic design, and provides a conducive and stimulating environment for creatives.
